ACS Spring 2023 Kids Zone banner

The ACS Committee on Community Activities and President Judy Giordan invites you to join us for hands-on activities with your family and school aged children during the ACS Kids Zone – Presidential Outreach event, located at the Concord Neighborhood Center in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday, March 25, from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. ET. The event is being held in conjunction with ACS’ Spring 2023 meeting. During Kids Zone, actual chemists from the ACS community and chemistry students will perform hands-on chemistry demonstrations. For your participation, you will also receive exciting take-home goodies!

 

If you will be in the Indianapolis area on March 25th and would like to attend, please confirm your attendance by completing the registration form. Lastly, please help us spread the word by forwarding this message to families and interested organizations in the Indianapolis area, and also by posting to your social media.

Front Porch of the American Chemical Society

The Indiana Section of the American Chemical Society welcomes you to the Front Porch Party for the 2023 Spring ACS meeting in Indianapolis on March 26th  and 27th.  We invite you to take part in this informal gathering space where we will show off local Indianapolis businesses and our Indy hospitality. We are delighted to have local Centerpoint Brewing handling our beer and wine garden in tandem with 3 variety food trucks and Ice cream.

Music, games, and entertainment will be ongoing on both nights.

Location: West end of the Georgia St Pedestrian Corridor right next to the east exit of the convention center

 
Event Highlights:

  • Chemistry of Beer – Sunday evening – Register in advance through the ACS meeting registration site on the special events portion. Space is limited!

  • ACS Networking Event Sponsored by YCC/CONC/CTA– Monday 5-7PM (but stay for more after!) – Follow up to the YCC Day in the Life Symposium. This is a ACS Presidential Event.  Free Food and Beverage tickets will be provided to attendees while supplies last!  No advance registration required.

Night at the museum!
Mar 29 @ 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Spend an evening at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields to learn about the interface of Art and Science through conservation demos, a pop-up art analysis lab in the galleries, and chemistry themed tours of the collection. Tickets include transportation, drinks, and light snacks as well as entry into The LUME Indianapolis immersive projection exhibition Monet and Friends Alive.

Continuous transportation to and from the museum starts at 5:30 PM-9:30 PM on 3/29 at the Maryland Street Conference Center entry.
